I've been a full-time mum for 8 years now and really want to get back to work now my kids are at school. I left school without any qualifications and get really nervous thinking about going back to work. It's all over the news how hard it is to get a job right now and I worry it's going to be twice as hard for someone like me without any experience or qualifications.

I decided I needed to improve my skills and gain qualifications that would help me get a job. I enrolled on the NCFE Level 1 Certificate in Adult Literacy a few months ago and feel much more confident already. It was quite a big step for me to sign up but I'm so glad I did - I've really improved my writing skills and my family were so proud when I passed the course. I've just signed up to study NCFE Level 1 Certificate in Adult Numeracy so I'll be more confident when it comes to applying for jobs. Studying these NCFE qualifications have made such a difference to me, I'm feeling much more positive about applying for jobs and making a success of myself.
