NCFE Employability Skills qualifications are essential for learners who want to get set for work. NCFE Employability Skills are on the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF), and can be studied as an Award or Certificate.

Preparation for Life and Work qualifications encourage learners to develop the knowledge and skills that will lead to further study or career progression.

NVQs are competence-based qualifications. Learners complete practical, work-related tasks designed to help develop the skills and knowledge required to do a job effectively.

Key and Basic Skills are skills that are commonly needed for success in work and life in general.

Functional Skills qualifications are designed to provide learners with practical skills in English, Information and Communication Technology, and Mathematics which will help them to ‘function’ confidently, effectively and independently in their work and personal life.

Diplomas are new, multi-component qualifications themed around an industry sector (know as ‘line of learning’) aimed at widening the educational choices for 14-19 year olds.
